About 1 in 5 students who graduate well-prepared for college don’t enroll, according to a new ACT report.
Overall, 67 percent of the 1.92 million students who took the ACT test in 2015 went to college. The report looked at college enrollment among students who met the ACT college-readiness benchmarks in each of the four subjects—English (composition), reading, math, and science. It found 22 percent of students who met three of the four college-readiness benchmarks, and 17 percent of those who met all four, did not enroll.
