Proposal Seeks to Eliminate Position of Wyoming Chief

A bipartisan group of Wyoming lawmakers is proposing a constitutional amendment to eliminate the job of state schools superintendent.

The proposal would assign the responsibility for overseeing the public education system to the governor.

It comes as the legislature, Gov. Matt Mead, and current Superintendent Cindy Hill have been battling over the superintendent’s powers and duties.
