Baffled by Iowa Action on Fingerprinting

September 20, 2005 1 min read

To the Editor:

After reading (“Iowa Law Ends Use of Finger-Scan Technology,” Sept. 7, 2005), I am baffled: Don’t we want children to be fingerprinted for safety?

Not that a school district ought to assist with law-enforcement efforts, but the simple use of fingerprints at schools seems to be a good example of the kind of common sense that politicians never seem to be able to grasp.
