With Supports, Kindergartners Can Use Academic Language (Video)

Elementary teacher Elizabeth Iwaszewicz shows her kindergartners how to differentiate fact from opinion and to support their claims with evidence. Many of Iwaszewicz’s students are English-language learners, and she uses language supports—like sentence starters and descriptive charts—to facilitate academic conversation.
