To the Editor:
As an educator in Northern California, I am appalled that you would give voice to someone who presided over a decade-long cheating scandal in a major American urban school district (“The Scandal Is Not the Whole Story,” Education Week, Aug. 10, 2011).
How dare you give former Atlanta Superintendent of Schools Beverly Hall a self-serving platform to maintain her no-longer “plausible denial” that she did not know about cheating, never encouraged it, and did not dissuade teachers from reporting it.
I hope that in the future, you will exercise far better judgment in deciding who, and who should not, be given an opportunity to speak on testing and cheating on your website.
