Shomari Jones, the director of equity and graduation success in the Bellevue, Wash., district, talks about his work in advocating for low-income students and students of color to ensure they receive equitable opportunities for learning and academic success in a district whose students are primarily white, Asian, and affluent. Jones was recognized as a 2019 Leader To Learn From for his leadership in closing opportunity gaps. This presentation took place at Education Week’s Leaders To Learn From event in Washington.
