Jeff Passe is the new president of the National Council for the Social Studies.
A professor of reading and elementary education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Mr. Passe, 51, will serve a one-year term as the organization’s president.
The Silver Spring, Md.-based NCSS has 26,000 members worldwide.
