Nick Kennedy is a high school English teacher from California’s Central Coast and a doctoral student at the University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education. This is his first year teaching Advanced Placement African American Studies.

When prepping for his first year teaching Advanced Placement African American Studies, California teacher Nick Kennedy was in the market for a framework to guide his students in exploring primary sources. When none of the familiar thinking routines fit the bill, he decided to craft his own.
