New approaches to career-and-technical education and work-based learning are taking hold in states and school districts – programs that seek to more closely align with workforce demands, and anticipate where they are going next. Many of the new-look programs seek to take job-training and skill-building into areas that weren’t in play a decade ago. These include programs focused on evolving forms of technology – including AI and cybersecurity – behavioral health, and advanced manufacturing/engineering.

The EdWeek Research Center recently asked two distinct audiences – K-12 administrators and postsecondary faculty focused on CTE and work-based learning – which areas of career-technical education they expect to grow the fastest over the next 5 years. In this webinar, the Research Center will partner with EdWeek’s editorial team in helping our audience make sense of the results, what they mean for education policy across the school-to-college continuum, and for the future workforce.
