About 60 educators from the Columbus schools have been notified that their licenses to work in Ohio schools are in danger because of their role in the district’s data scandal.
The state office that investigates educator misconduct sent letters last month to the educators, telling them they are being investigated and offering them the chance to give up their licenses to end the investigation. The state permanently revokes licenses once educators surrender them.
The 60 people now targeted by the department are quadruple the number the district has said were responsible for data changes. It’s unlikely that teachers are among the “educators” who received letters, as they have not been implicated in changing tests. Instead, the 60 are probably principals, assistant principals, and other administrators.
