Florida districts could earn money if they make elementary and middle school students wear uniforms.
A state House panel last week approved a bill that would pay a district an extra $10 per student if it adopted a uniform policy.
Legislators backing the proposal say that uniforms could help improve school safety and minimize disciplinary problems because of distractions caused by clothing.
