Information on applying for the study is available online from Mathematica Policy Research, Inc.

Mathematica Policy Research Inc., a Princeton, N.J.-based research organization, is seeking model teacher-induction programs to participate in a new federal study.

The five-year study is being financed with a $10.5 million grant from the Department of Education. With its subcontractors, Learning Point Associates of Naperville, Ill., and the University of Pennsylvania’s center for education leadership, Mathematica plans to test the teacher-induction program that it selects in 20 school districts across the country with high concentrations of poor students. Schools in those districts will be randomly assigned either to take part in the model program or to continue their usual practices for inducting new teachers.
