To the Editor:
The Nov. 16, 2016, article “Few Women Run School Districts, Why?” and interview with the superintendent of the Guilford County, N.C., school district, “You Just Do the Work,” both speak volumes about the persistent gender gap in leadership positions and salaries that permeates American society at all levels, including education.
It gives me great hope for the future that ladies such as these continue to light the way for other women to hold the top job at a school district. These women are setting a fine example for our young ladies so they too can aspire to reach the highest positions of power, not only in education, but in business, politics, and other fields.
