Schools in 22 New Hampshire towns will be flush with laptop computers, digital cameras and other technology thanks to federal stimulus money.

The Concord Monitor says schools across the state were awarded a total of $3.2 million through the federal Enhancing Education Through Technology Program, which was a part of the economic stimulus package.

State education technology consultant Cathy Higgins says the state is set to disburse the money.

She says the the grants are a huge shot in the arm for the districts that got the awards.

Officials say the money was directed to “high-need” districts, where the number or percentage of children from families with incomes below the poverty line is above the state median.
