Learn NC

The school of education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has compiled a site filled with lesson plans, teaching strategies, and online course materials for teachers in a range of subjects. Educators looking for professional-development tools can check out the “Best Practices” section, as well as a “Course Catalog” where teachers can enroll in online classes for a fixed fee. These workshops and courses focus on developing a teacher’s online and e-learning skills.

Aside from the teacher resources, the site offers in-class tools for a variety of subjects. Whether you’re a high school history teacher or a middle school math teacher, you’ll want to visit the “Lesson Plans” page for teaching guides. Some of the information, including the “Curriculum Standards” section, is specifically geared toward North Carolina teachers, but the professional-development and in-class resources are accessible to all kinds of educators, regardless of where they live.
