
Kathleen Blake Yancey will begin a one-year term in November as the vice president of the National Council of Teachers of English.
A professor of English at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Ms. Yancey, 55, will follow her term as vice president by serving one-year terms as the group’s president-elect, president, and past-president.
The Urbana, Ill.-based NCTE has 60,000 members.
