High School Science Awards

Isha Jain, Janelle Schlossberger, and Amanda Marinoff were awarded the top prizes in the 2007-08 Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology by the Iselin, N.J.-based Siemens Foundation, a philanthropy that encourages young people to excel in science and engineering. Ms. Jain, a senior at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa., was selected for a $100,000 grand prize based on her research on bone growth, while Ms. Schlossberger and Ms. Marinoff, seniors at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School in Plainview, N.Y., will share a $100,000 team prize in recognition of their research on tuberculosis.
