Help for Iraqi Schools

These U.S.-based private firms or nonprofit organizations will participate in federally financed efforts for the reconstruction of Iraq’s school system:

Creative Associates International Inc., started in 1977, won a one-year, $62 million contract for “Revitalization of Iraqi Schools and Stabilization of Education” awarded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.

SUBCONTRACTORS WITH CREATIVE ASSOCIATES:

The American Islamic Congress, a nonprofit organization founded by American Muslims after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, aims to counteract Muslim extremism by promoting tolerance and social justice in the United States. Will help assess the conditions of schools and later train teachers in Iraq.
