Marvin first started his career as an intern at the Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, moved on to the Press Journal in Vero Beach, Florida, as a photojournalist and worked at the Palm Beach Post, as well. Marvin returned to our area to work at The Washington Post for the past decade or so where he was able to hone his craft and make a name for himself in the industry.
His work has earned recognition from Pictures of the Year International, the National Press Photographers Association’s Best of Photojournalism, the Northern Short Course, the Associated Press Sports Editors Contest, and the White House News Photographers Association. His photography was also included in the 2025 Pulitzer Prize finalist entry for National Reporting and the 2011 Pulitzer Prize finalist entry for Explanatory Reporting, which documented Specialist Robert Warren, a soldier returning from Afghanistan with a traumatic brain injury. And, most recently, he was a contributor to the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for Washington Post team coverage of workers impacted by DOGE cuts. Over the years, Marvin has also developed a particular passion for celebrity portraiture and fashion photography and has gained recognition in this area.
