Technology Counts and Its ‘Fundamental Flaw’

To the Editor:

I noted with great interest the results of your survey on the use of educational technology in the various states (Technology Counts 2007,” March 29, 2007). It seems to me, however, that such a survey is fundamentally flawed in the sense that, as far as I know, there is not good systemic evidence to show that the use of technology improves the educational experience of students.

This is another example of how the education industry focuses on teaching and is teacher-centered, rather than being focused on student-centered learning.

You should know better.
