There is increasing interest in the potential for personalized learning to motivate and engage students. But there is confusion and skepticism about what exactly personalized learning is, and isn’t, and uncertainty about its effectiveness. Providing students with more choices about what and how they learn may encourage them to take ownership of their education, but critics argue that it may be setting them up to fail. What is personalized learning and does it work? There may not be a single answer to this question, but lots of ideas about how it might improve teaching and learning.
