Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings was scheduled to travel to Jordan for a conference this week with education ministers from 30 countries in the Broader Middle East and North Africa region. Ms. Spellings was to leave May 21 for a visit that includes the two-day education session, the first on education that grew out of an effort by the Group of Eight, or G-8, nations last year to help the region.
