Public schools in the United States should become more focused on continually improving student performance, and all money spent on education should reflect that goal, concludes a report by researchers from the School Finance Redesign Project, a nonprofit organization based at the University of Washington in Seattle that focuses on influencing school finance policy.
The report—a preliminary summary of findings from the four-year project on public school finance—is made up of interviews with educators and policymakers in North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Washington state, and a review of the existing financial and legal frameworks in each of those states.
