Educators for Kerry, which describes itself as an independent organization made up of teachers, administrators, students, parents, school board members, and college professors, launched a Web site on Sept. 22 in support of the Democratic presidential nominee.
The site, www.educatorsforkerry.com, includes information on Sen. Kerry’s positions on education issues as well as links to advocacy groups, voter-registration sites, and the official Kerry campaign Web site.
The Educators for Kerry (E4K for short) site also provides a forum for discussion of education issues (though, so far, there’s not much discussion taking place), and details on Mr. Kerry’s education-related appearances.
David Merkowitz, a Washington-based education consultant, helped put the site together.
“We saw a void that needed to be filled in order to give people easy entree into the policy positions and ways to participate,” he said. “If education is your thing, here’s all the information.”
