  • The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Web site on bioterrorism lists the threats posed by smallpox, anthrax, sarin nerve gas, and other biological and chemical weapons. The site is www.bt.cdc.gov.
  • Edvotek is a Bethesda, Md.-based company that specializes in materials for teaching about biotechnology. Its offerings include activities that simulate a smallpox outbreak, the bacterium that causes anthrax, and other bioterror threats. Its Web site is www.edvotek.com.
  • A federally financed project at Rice University in Houston has created a Web site where secondary school students can investigate an outbreak of an infectious disease. The site is http://medmyst.rice.edu.
