Joseph A. Aguerrebere, the president of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, will step down on June 30 after eight years of service, the NBPTS announced. According to the Arlington, Va.-based nonprofit organization, which provides teacher certifications, the number of nationally certified teachers quadrupled during Mr. Aguerrebere’s tenure to 91,000.
