The mayor of Los Angeles has announced his leadership team for the Partnership for L.A. Schools, an organization that will run a cluster of six schools in cooperation with the school district.

Angela Bass, a former top administrator in the San Diego school district, will serve as superintendent of instruction. Marshall Tuck, who previously served as Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s senior education adviser and as the president and chief operating officer of Green Dot Schools, a charter-management organization, will be the chief executive officer.

The initiative is slated to begin in July at the schools, which voted earlier this year to join the improvement effort.
