Sudden cardiac arrest can happen on any K–12 school campus. When it does, minutes matter. Yet many schools remain underprepared, lacking clear protocols, trained response teams, or adequate resources. For more than a decade, the American Heart Association has worked with school and district leaders to advance best practices for on-campus cardiac emergency response.

In this webinar, Heart Association experts will discuss why Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs) are essential for schools and districts, examine the risks of inaction, review current data on cardiac arrest in school settings, and highlight common gaps in preparedness.

Participants will:

  • Hear about successful implementations
  • Explore emerging state-level compliance trends.
  • Receive practical guidance and resources to help schools get started- regardless of their size, location, or circumstances.
