“The Ethics of American Youth” survey is available online from CHARACTER COUNTS!.

More than 60 percent of the high school students who responded to a recent national survey said they had cheated on classroom exams, and more than 25 percent admitted that they had stolen something from a store within the past year.

The survey results — released by the Josephson Institute of Ethics, a Los Angeles-based character education organization — also found that, of the 24,763 high school students polled, 62 percent said they had lied to a teacher.
