“2005 Partnership Attitude Tracking Study” is posted by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America.

Twenty percent of students in grades 7-12 reported using inhalants such as spray paint, glue, cooking spray, and typewriter-correction fluid at least once for a temporary high, and the percentage of students who do not understand the dangers of inhalant use appears to be on the rise, according to a survey by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America.

The survey of more than 7,000 teenagers found that the reported use of inhalants among teenagers has increased from 18 percent to 20 percent from 2001 to 2005. It also found that 64 percent of the teenagers surveyed “agree strongly” that inhalants can kill, down 19 percentage points from 2001. The margin of error in the survey is plus or minus 1.5 percentage points.
