The Baltimore school board has awarded Chief Executive Officer Bonnie S. Copeland a contract to continue to lead the 90,000-student system until 2008. Ms. Copeland will receive a total compensation package of at least $272,000 this year, a $40,000 increase.
The agreement also provides for annual performance bonuses of up to $28,000 for improvements in student academic performance and in management areas.
