Robert C. Newhouse began his duties as the president of the National Rural Education Association after the organization’s 97th annual convention last month. He will serve a one-year term.
Mr. Newhouse, 63, is the director of the rural education and small-schools center at Kansas State University’s college of education in Manhattan, Kan.
The Norman, Okla.-based NREA is a nonprofit organization of rural school administrators, teachers, school board members, researchers, and others interested in rural education issues.
