Most Americans believe children should receive more information about AIDS from both their schools and from the media, a study released last month by the Kaiser Family Foundation concludes.
Based on a telephone survey of 1,511 adults, the study found that 95 percent of Americans believe that AIDS information should be available in schools, and 69 percent think the information should be made available by age 12.
Americans also believe that the entertainment industry should help inform children about the deadly disease, according to the Menlo Park, Calif.-based foundation, a nonprofit research and health-advocacy organization.
