Continuing its practice of recent years, the Public Broadcasting Service has slated several documentaries and specials on education for “back to school week.’'
Producers from seven public-television stations across the country followed high school seniors around for a day last May for “High School Stories: One Day in America’s Schools.’'
The one-hour documentary examines a wide range of schools including the Lummi Middle College High School on the Lummi Indian Reservation in Washington State and the Harvey Milk School for gay students in New York City.

“Count On Me,’' a one-hour mathematics special on what parents can do to help their children learn the subject, was scheduled for 8 P.M. on Sept. 7.
