Georgette R. DeVeres, 52, has become the chairwoman of the board of trustees of the College Board.
Ms. DeVeres, who began her two-year term after a national vote of the College Board’s members in November, has been a member of the board of trustees for the past four years. She is the associate vice president of admission and the director of financial aid at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif.
The New York City-based College Board sponsors the SAT college-entrance exam, the Advanced Placement program, and other educational services.
