Join a husband-and-wife educator team on a 17-day natural history study tour to Queensland, Australia. Snorkel for three days along the Great Barrier Reef; see the rugged beauty of the outback; work with expert Australian biologists; and learn educational applications for the classroom. Up to 40 participants will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. Cost: $2,799, which includes airfare from Seattle, or $2,749, which includes airfare from San Francisco. Price also includes all meals, air and land transportation, admissions, and lodging. Travelers may stay on after the tour to visit Sydney, Fiji, and New Zealand. July 7-14
Study the natural history of the western Caribbean aboard the cruise ship Costa Riviera. The study/travel program, sponsored by Southern Utah State College, includes stops in Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel. $1,088 (double occupancy) includes the eight-day cruise and airfare from most cities to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. July 31-August 9
Southern Utah State also offers a trip to Nova Scotia for painters. “Spike Ress’s Art Workshop’’ includes demonstrations and painting classes, primarily in watercolor. $775 includes airfare from Las Vegas to Nova Scotia; a tour of Halifax; eight nights (double occupancy); and breakfasts.
