The U.S. Department of Labor last week dismissed a complaint filed by Deborah Lynch, the former president of the Chicago Teachers Union, challenging her defeat in June.
In a two-page letter, the agency noted that the election didn’t fall under its jurisdiction, and that the election of Marilyn Stewart had been ruled valid in August by the American Federation of Teachers’ executive council.
