The Education Commission of the States has named Roderick G.W. Chu, a chancellor emeritus of the Ohio board of regents, as its temporary chief executive. Mr. Chu, who is one of the executive committee members for the Denver-based policy clearinghouse, will lead the organization until it finds a permanent successor to Piedad F. Robertson, who left her post Sept. 15, four months earlier than planned.
