David A. Williams will become the president and chief executive officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation this week.
For the past 10 years, Mr. Williams, 45, has been employed by Habitat for Humanity International, an Americus, Ga.-based nonprofit group that builds houses for poor people.
The Phoenix-based Make- A-Wish Foundation works to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. It has 74 chapters nationwide and 28 international affiliates.
