Because of a typographical error, a story in the Oct. 13, 2004, issue of Education Week about New Jersey’s district spending caps (“N.J. School Administrators Take Aim at Budget-Cap Law”) reported incorrect projected expenses for one special education transfer student in the Hainesport Township schools. The amount will be in excess of $100,000.

Bill Fletcher, a candidate for state schools chief in North Carolina, was incorrectly identified in the same issue ( “Five States to Vote for Top School Officers”). Mr. Fletcher, a member of the Wake County school board since 1993, served as its chairman from 2000 to 2001.

An On Assignment story in the Oct. 20 edition on community use of schools in Toronto (“Open-Door Policy”) misidentified the vice principal of Thorncliffe Park Public School. He is Paul Woods.
