The story, “Where Districts Spend on Principals, Scores Rose,” in the April 10, 2019, edition of Education Week used the incorrect academic year in describing the year in which new principals were placed in schools as part of the Wallace Foundation’s Principal Pipeline Initiative. A chart that accompanied the story incorrectly presented gains in math and reading scores as a comparison between two sets of schools. The gains in scores were from the same set of schools, but in different time frames.
