A story in the Aug. 6, 2003, issue edition of Education Week about the upcoming recall election of California Gov. Gray Davis (“Calif. School Groups Line Up Against Davis Recall”) misstated the positions of two education groups. The Association of California School Administrators has voted to oppose the recall. The California School Boards Association does not take positions in partisan elections.
A story about a recent report on preschool standards (“New Report Tracks States’ Preschool Learning Standards”) in the July 9, 2003, issue of Education Week should have cited Victoria Stebbins Frelow, a graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University, as one of the three authors of the study.
