An article in the March 2, 2005, issue of Education Week (“Long Commutes Seen Influencing Teacher Job Choices”) gave incorrect information on the turnover rate among first-year teachers in New York City public schools. In the lowest-performing schools, 27 percent leave; in the highest-performing schools, the rate is 15 percent.
