Charles M. Tampio was recently named the president of Earth Force Inc., an Alexandria, Va.-based nonprofit organization that offers civic and environmental education programs to 36,000 middle and high school students in 18 states. He starts his new job Dec. 12.
Mr. Tampio, 60, is currently the vice president of programs for the Close Up Foundation, a nonprofit group that brings students to Washington to learn about democracy and government. It is also based in Alexandria.
