Back to School

Classes were expected to resume this week in all Florida counties after a fall marked by interruptions from four hurricanes. Schools in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, Polk, and St. Lucie counties opened on Oct. 4. In Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, still recovering from Hurricane Ivan, schools were expected to open Oct. 11, state officials said.
