"World Youth Report 2005: Young People Today, and in 2015" is available for purchase from the United Nations.
Four out of every five people in the age group are enrolled in or have completed secondary school, it says. Still, some 130 million people in that age range are illiterate.
The report also examines other factors affecting the condition of youths, such as poverty, employment, health, juvenile delinquency, and drug abuse.
