U.S. Lags on Several Key Education Measures, OECD Finds
The United States lags behind more than 20 other industrialized nations on mathematics performance and problem-solving skills in a variety of academic subjects, according to a report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
In addition, the Paris-based organization’s annual report ranked the United States ninth among OECD members in the percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds who have at least a high school diploma.
The report includes statistics on a host of other education measures, such as spending per pupil.
