The University System of Maryland, Prince George’s County Public Schools (Md.), and Prince George’s Community College have been awarded a five-year, $12.4 million grant from the National Science Foundation to enhance the teaching and learning of STEM in the Prince George’s County schools, one of the largest majority-minority systems in the nation.
The Minority Student Pipeline Math Science Partnership, or MSP-Squared, hopes to bring more minority students into the STEM fields by offering professional development programs and summer research opportunities to teachers and early college or dual enrollment science courses to students.
