A California jury awarded two former high school students a total of $300,000 in damages last week after finding that they were harassed by their classmates because they are homosexual. The San Diego Superior Court jury found in favor of Joseph Ramelli and Megan Donovan, who are now in college. They were awarded $175,000 and $125,000, respectively, in damages in their lawsuit against the Poway Unified School District. The district is expected to appeal.
