A Superintendent Mobilizes to Mitigate the Effects of Lead Exposure on Students

Bilal Tawwab, the schools superintendent in Flint, Mich., is leading a comprehensive effort to head off the effects of lead on his students. Since alarmingly high levels of lead were found in the city’s water supply two years ago, the school district has taken several measures to ensure the crisis wouldn’t stand in the way of children’s development and education. Kavitha Cardoza reports.
